The iconic number 42 from Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" served as the inspiration
for the name Probe42. As determined by the fictitious supercomputer "Deep Thought," this number
represented the answer to the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.
The founders of Probe42 were inspired by this concept and wanted to align their company’s name with the
significance of this number. The name Probe42 was a reminder of their mission to bring the power of
knowledge to everyone and provide rich, quality data insights through their platform to help people
make more informed business decisions.
Our key investor, Accel Partners, comes with a long history of excellence and innovation. The venture capitalists have over $3 Billion under management, and have helped entrepreneurs build over 300 successful companies. Based in the Internet and technology sector, most of these have gone on to become category-defining organizations, with stellar examples among these such as Facebook, Groupon, and Flipkart.
